Universidle Play today's puzzle

Privacy policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026. Replace the bracketed details with your own before publishing.

This policy explains what Universidle (“we”) collects when you play at universidle.org, and why.

No account, no name

You can play without signing up. We never ask for your name, email address or any other contact details.

What your browser keeps

Your progress, statistics, streaks and day/night choice are saved in your own browser (local storage). They never leave your device unless you share a result yourself. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

The daily ranking

When you solve a daily puzzle, the game sends our ranking database: a random player number created by your browser, the game mode, the puzzle date, how many guesses and hints you used, and the time. This is used only to count how many players found the answer and to calculate ranks. Results are deleted automatically after about 45 days. The database is hosted by Supabase [region you chose]. Like any website, our hosting and database providers process your IP address to deliver the pages and requests; we do not store it in the ranking table.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense so the game can stay free.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for consent through Google's consent message before any personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy link in that message.

Fonts and other requests

Fonts, the world map and all game data are served from our own site. Pictures of the famous people are loaded from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, run by the Wikimedia Foundation: your browser fetches them directly, so Wikimedia receives your IP address and the usual browser information, as described in the Wikimedia privacy policy. Apart from that, playing only contacts the ranking database and, if enabled, Google's advertising.

Children

Universidle is a general-audience trivia game and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Because the ranking uses only a random number and no identity, we usually cannot link a result to you.
